We want your Williams Architectural products to look their best and last for years to come! To help with this, we’ve put together some simple care instructions that you can follow. By taking a little extra care, you can protect your investment and keep your products looking beautiful. 

Brass

  • Brass is a strong, corrosion-resistant metal that can become dull and tarnished over time.
  • Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals, as they can scratch or damage the surface.
  • Use a lukewarm, mild soapy water and a microfiber cleaning cloth to dry thoroughly to prevent water spots.
  • Commercial metal cleaners and polishes (Brasso, Bar Keepers Friend, Never Dull, Cameo, Hagerty, and Blitz)

  • Regular cleaning and polishing with a microfiber cloth can help keep dust and dirt from accumulating.
  • Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals, as they can scratch or damage the surface.
  • For polished brass, use a gentle polishing cloth to maintain the shine.
  • Regularly dust with a soft-bristled brush or a clean, dry cloth to remove dust and dirt.
  • Use a mild soap solution and dry thoroughly to prevent water spots.

Stainless Steel:

  • Clean regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and dirt.
  • Avoid allowing liquids, food particles, dirt, or foreign debris to stand on the surface for prolonged periods.
  • Use a stainless steel cleaner and a soft cloth to remove fingerprints and smudges.
  • Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals, as they can scratch or damage the surface.
  • Never use chlorine bleach; if used, rinse off with water immediately and wipe off the surface with a soft, clean towel.
  • The all-natural formula is safe for all stainless steel food preparation surfaces

Timber 

  • Dust regularly with a soft-bristled brush or a clean, dry cloth.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as they can damage the surface.
  • For more thorough cleaning, use a mild soap solution and dry thoroughly to prevent water spots.
  • Remove knobs or handles from furniture to clean
  • Wipe with a soft cloth or microfiber towel to remove surface dirt and dust
  • Clean with mild soap and water, wiping in the direction of wood grain
  • Dry thoroughly with a dry cloth to prevent water damage
  • Apply protective coating (wax, oil, or varnish) to prevent damage and extend lifespan
  • Avoid harsh chemicals (bleach, ammonia) and use mild soap and water or wood-specific cleaning solutions.
  • Apply a timber sealant or wax to protect the surface and maintain the finish.
  • Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or high humidity.
  • Use a soft-bristled brush or a clean, dry cloth to remove dust and dirt from crevices and corners.
  • Avoid direct sunlight and moisture, which can cause fading or warping
  • Handle with care to prevent loosening or breaking

Additional Tips

  • Regularly inspect your timber products for signs of damage or wear and tear.
  • Use a soft cloth or microfiber towel to wipe down wooden knobs and handles regularly.
  • Avoid using abrasive materials (steel wool) that can scratch the surface
  • Keep wooden knobs and handles away from direct sunlight and moisture
  • Handle furniture with wooden knobs and handles with care to prevent damage

Acrylic / Lucite

  • Clean regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and dirt.
  • Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals, as they can scratch or damage the surface.
  • Wash acrylic products only with warm water. Avoid using solvents or cleaning products, as they can cause discoloration.
  • For stubborn marks or sticky residue, use pure Isopropyl and a microfiber cloth.
  • Gently wipe clean with a damp microfiber cloth.

Removing Marks and Residue

  • To remove dried markers or paint, soak the board in warm water to loosen it, then wipe clean.
  • For more thorough cleaning, use a mild soap solution and dry thoroughly to prevent water spots.
  • Avoid using paper towels or other abrasive materials, as they can scratch the surface.

Preventing Scratches

  • Handle acrylic products with care to avoid scratching. 
  • Use a soft-bristled brush or a clean, dry cloth to remove dust and dirt from crevices and corners.
  • Regularly cleaning your acrylic products will prevent the buildup of dirt and grime.
